Supporting Kashmiri Students and Residency Applicants

Project KRESCENT—Kashmiri Residency Applicants Enhanced Support for Clinical Experience and Training in the USA—is a KASHMER initiative that helps Kashmiri medical graduates navigate the path to residency training in the United States.

The project also supports pre-medical and medical students of Kashmiri origin who are already studying in the United States. Through practical guidance and mentorship, Project KRESCENT aims to help participants prepare for each stage of the residency journey with greater confidence.

How Project KRESCENT Helps

Support may include:

  • Educational webinars about the U.S. residency pathway
  • Mentorship for Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) applications
  • Personal statement and CV guidance
  • Residency interview preparation and mock interviews
  • Development of clinical and research skills
  • Connections to possible clinical and research opportunities in the United States

Guidance Across the Residency Journey

Project KRESCENT is designed to guide applicants through pre-residency preparation, the application process, and residency interviews. Its educational and mentorship activities help participants better understand expectations while strengthening the skills and materials needed for their applications.

2024 Mock Interview Program

In 2024, Project KRESCENT conducted Zoom-based mock interviews for more than 20 residency applicants. These sessions gave applicants an opportunity to practice answering interview questions and prepare for an important stage of the residency selection process.

Advancing KASHMER’s Mission
